Overview: The Mortgage Loan Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the sales efforts of our branch, engaging directly with clients and real estate professionals.
The assistant is tasked with managing loan files and delivering essential administrative support to designated loan originators or branch managers.
This position offers a pathway to becoming a licensed loan originator, contingent upon fulfilling state licensing prerequisites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of loan applications, gather necessary documentation, including credit reports, and run underwriting systems.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Loan Originator, referral partners, and clients throughout the loan process, ensuring effective communication and follow-up.
- Promote Envoy Mortgage's offerings to real estate agents, prospective homebuyers, and referral sources while diligently tracking interactions.
- Support the Loan Processor in analyzing client scenarios in alignment with underwriting and investor guidelines.
- Handle initial client inquiries and schedule consultations as needed.
- Manage a diverse pipeline of loans, including conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and specialty products.
- Collect and verify information from borrowers to finalize applications and disclosures.
- Provide timely responses to inquiries, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Input loan applications into the Loan Origination System (LOS) and assign them to the appropriate Originator or Assistant.
- Review loan documentation for accuracy and completeness, reporting discrepancies to the Originator.
- Communicate with borrowers and real estate agents to clear conditions and facilitate the loan process.
- Monitor loan progress and keep all parties informed of status updates.
- Stay informed about investor guidelines and changes that may impact loan processing.
- Prepare and send pre-approval and commitment letters to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct periodic status calls with clients, realtors, and builders.
- Coordinate closing details with clients, including final payments and cash to close.
- Review closing statements for accuracy prior to signings.
- Ensure timely closings by collaborating with title companies and clients.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Envoy Mortgage's products and systems.
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to office hours, with potential for overtime as required.
- Perform general clerical and phone support as needed.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, such as Loan Assistant, Processor, or Underwriter.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with underwriting systems and loan origination software, with Encompass experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service skills and a collaborative team player.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of resolving issues independently.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, and communicate verbally.
- Occasional standing, walking, and other physical activities may be necessary.
Job Type: Non-Exempt
Compensation: $19.00/hour, with eligibility for bonus pay based on performance.
