Job Description

Job Summary:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. As a key member of our Global Surveillance Division, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software applications using a variety of programming languages and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize software development projects.
  • Develop and maintain software documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and test plans.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality software development.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and develop software solutions that meet their needs.
  • Develop and maintain software testing plans and procedures to ensure software quality.
  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate software components and ensure seamless system operation.
  • Develop and maintain software configuration management processes to ensure software version control and change management.
  • Participate in software development methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum, to ensure efficient software development.
  • Develop and maintain software security policies and procedures to ensure software security.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on software engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Experience with software development tools, such as Git, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Strong understanding of software security principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with cloud-based software development, such as AWS or Azure.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Experience with software testing and quality assurance.
