Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Mayo Clinic. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your primary responsibility will be to support the care team in meeting the needs of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including collecting and documenting patient data and communicating with patients, families, and care team members.
  • Support the unit by maintaining the environment of care and performing unit-based clerical duties.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Utilize multiple computer applications to support patient care and administrative tasks.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with other technological devices.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Self-motivated and independent with a strong commitment to continuous learning and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Patient Care Specialist, HUC, MA, NS, or Ward Clerk.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
