Job Title: Automation Electrical Tech

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Electrical Tech to join our team at JBS Value Added. As an Automation Electrical Tech, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing production line equipment, inspecting and maintaining electrical systems, and installing new electrical and electronic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair production line equipment, including high-voltage switchgear and protective relaying systems.
  • Inspect and maintain electrical systems, including grounding procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Install new electrical and electronic equipment, including control panels and programmable logic controllers.
  • Perform high-voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations.
  • Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems, and safely isolate and prepare circuits and electrical apparatus for repair.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install, calibrate, and maintain electrical apparatus.
  • Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus, including switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
  • Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, and panels.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining scheduled maintenance programs for plant equipment.

Requirements:

  • Industrial/commercial electrical background with high-speed production line experience.
  • Working knowledge of all areas of maintenance and advanced mechanical ability.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, layout, install, and maintain a wide variety of new and existing electrical equipment and processes.
  • Ability to work in a variety of temperatures and conditions.
  • Good working knowledge of Program Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Ability to use multi-meter accurately and safely.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of production line equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, including high-voltage switchgear, protective relaying, grounding procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, safety procedures, and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to work unscheduled hours during emergency and/or unusual situations.
  • Knowledge of computer software/hardware with programming basics highly desirable.
