About the Job

The U.S. Army is seeking a skilled Trade Specialist to join our team. As a Trade Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising and performing the fabrication, repair, and modification of metallic and nonmetallic parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, repair, and modify metallic and nonmetallic parts using various machines and tools.
  • Operate machines such as engine lathes, utility grinders, power cutoff saws, hydraulic presses, drill presses, oxyacetylene, electric arc, and inert gas welding machines.
Requirements
  • Must be between the ages of 17-34.
  • Must have a GED or High School Diploma.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Cardholder.
  • Must meet Army Height and weight standards.
Training and Development

As a Trade Specialist, you will receive 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instructions. You will learn skills such as machine types, setup, and operation, use of different metals, and safety procedures.
