KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the engineering authority and technical specialist on products and services.
- Provide technical guidance, including interpretation of schematics and recommendations for construction and manufacturing techniques.
- Oversee the creation of new designs and modify existing designs for tailored applications using 2D CAD and 3D Autodesk Inventor software. Maintain and update drawings/models as necessary.
- Lead the engineering team in the development of CAM and CNC programming, ensuring systems are precise and compliant with specifications.
- Generate accurate bills of materials (BOM) for manufactured products.
- Draft installation guidelines for both new and existing products.
- Prepare technical reviews for the Department of State and verify the accuracy of submissions.
- Manage customer change orders to ensure specifications are fulfilled punctually.
- Direct research and development initiatives through the new product introduction process.
- Serve as the communication bridge between the Engineering and Production teams.
- Coordinate with operations to guarantee timely and accurate order processing in design.
- Troubleshoot design challenges on the production floor to facilitate smooth operations.
- Develop comprehensive engineering plans, processes, and procedures for the engineering team.
- Promote safe work practices.
- Undertake additional projects and tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Over 10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
- More than 5 years of leadership experience in engineering roles.
- At least 3 years of experience in programming CNC machinery.
- Familiarity with storefront and curtain wall systems.
- Proficiency in reading architectural blueprints is essential.
- Knowledge of door hardware packages is advantageous.
- Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks).
- Understanding of drafting standards (e.g., dimensioning).
- Comprehension of production processes and materials.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Leadership qualities necessary for managing and developing an engineering team.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with all departments.
