Adjunct Vocational Education Instructor

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic and motivated candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate our students. PositionThe LACCD is accepting applications for Vocational Education Instructor, Biotechnology Non-Credit positions at our colleges for the 2025 Academic School Year. The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants. When there is an opening at one of our colleges, the hiring location will begin their review process with the applicants in the pool.
Eligibility RequirementPursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, chemistry, biochemistry, or engineering; and two years of full-time related profession experience.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college faculty, staff, and students.

The adjunct instructor should be prepared to teach a range of Biotechnology related courses within the Noncredit Vocational Education discipline, and promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning. The successful candidate will be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities, and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities, and educational experiences.
Remote LearningFaculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas, hybrid, or hyflex modalities to support remote learning. Applicants with demonstrated certification in Canvas or other online modalities may be given preference.
CompensationThe salary schedule for adjunct noncredit instructors begins at $79.20 per standard hour.

- Unofficial transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate coursework with degrees posted (official transcripts will be required if selected for an interview). Documents from an approved foreign transcript evaluator are required for degrees received from other countries. You can obtain a listing of approved foreign evaluation agencies at the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing: California Commission on Teaching Credentialing.
