Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Mercy Health's policies and procedures.
- Support the nurse in the application of the nursing process, developing critical thinking skills through collaboration and ensuring quality patient care delivery.
- Participate in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and when leaving.
- Perform delegated tasks once competency has been validated.
- Provide basic patient care, including care and comfort, record vital signs, personal care and hygiene, and mobility, including unit-based specialty duties.
- Act as a liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns to the nurse.
- Provide high-level customer service to all patients, patient's family, visitors, and all employees.
- Participate in educational opportunities related to nursing practice and critical thinking.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation (required)
- BLS (preferred)
