Cleveland State Community College is seeking qualified instructors to teach mathematics courses in a variety of formats, including online and on-ground classes. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and teach classes as assigned, following course descriptions and departmental guidelines.

2. Ensure that all classes are taught as scheduled and that all relevant learning outcomes are covered.

3. Maintain academic standards and classroom behavior, communicating with students regularly and responding to their emails in a timely manner.

4. Evaluate students using a variety of methods and inform them of their scores in a timely manner.

5. Use Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and respond to student questions via email in a timely manner.

6. Meet deadlines for administrative requests, such as submitting personnel paperwork, academic activity reports, and final grades.

7. Request equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids through the department chair or program coordinator.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution is required. Three years of teaching experience in a mathematics-related field is preferred. Experience with alternative delivery instructional modes, such as hybrid and online teaching, is also recommended.

Pay Rates:

Adjunct faculty pay rates are based on educational qualifications. The rates per credit hour are as follows:

Bachelor's degree: $525

Master's degree: $550

Master's plus 30 semester hours (ABD): $575

Doctorate: $600
