Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver Trainee to join our team at Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Bagdad, AZ. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing inspections to maximize equipment and tire life, executing assignments from our computerized dispatch system, and receiving training and mentoring from experienced operators and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections to maximize equipment and tire life
  • Execute assignments from computerized dispatch system and/or two-way radio
  • Receive training, mentoring, and feedback from other operators, supervisors, and equipment trainers
  • Understand changes to assigned work areas and any potential hazards
  • Know procedures for start-up and shut-down, fueling, fire, runaway, emergency, and accident
  • Have knowledge of payload measurement system, over speed alarm, dispatch codes, shovel and truck horn signals, secondary brake, and park brake
  • Perform safe spotting at shovel, loading, transporting material, dumping on stockpiles, and dumping at crusher
Requirements
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude
  • Selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required
