Position Overview:
The Custodial Services Support Coordinator plays a vital role in assisting the Manager of Custodial Services to ensure uniform custodial operations across the organization and to address facility-related emergencies effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with school administrators, facility managers, and custodial teams to provide guidance and support in managing their custodial operations.
- Offer advice and direction to Lead Custodians to enhance the effectiveness and management of their teams.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to assess the performance of custodial staff.
- Facilitate training sessions for custodial personnel on safety protocols, proper handling of cleaning agents, and the use of equipment.
- Assist in the procurement and management of custodial supplies and equipment.
- Oversee vendor performance, including those responsible for emergency cleanups and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with Integrated Pest Management regulations through proper handling of chemicals.
- Evaluate new cleaning products and equipment to determine their suitability for use.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on custodial equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to custodial services.
- Provide mentorship and performance feedback to custodial staff.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high morale.
- Ensure adherence to policies set forth by the organization and relevant agreements.
- Maintain accountability for all assigned tools, equipment, and materials.
- Enforce health and safety standards for custodial staff and provide necessary training.
- Utilize technology for inventory management and task prioritization.
- Regularly review the quality of work performed by custodial teams and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Assist in the bidding process for custodial supplies and equipment.
- Maintain communication with the department to respond to emergencies effectively.
- Uphold certification and licensing requirements as mandated.
- Respond promptly to facility emergencies, coordinating with custodial staff and external vendors as necessary.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and exceptional service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role within a custodial environment; a relevant bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
- At least two years of supervisory experience overseeing multiple employees.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate organizational vehicles.
- Current certification as a Public Agency Applicator or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong conflict resolution skills and proficiency in office software.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical ability to perform job functions, including lifting and climbing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience with equipment maintenance and repair in custodial settings.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and training.
- Familiarity with organizational policies and objectives.
