Job Summary:

The Residential Relief Staff for The Salvation Army's Residential Programs is an on-call position requiring flexibility in work hours and schedule. This role performs essential functions under the supervision of the Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure facility upkeep meets program and licensing standards.
  • Maintain completeness of resident and program files.
  • Enforce consistency in program rules and procedures.
  • Meet all program and resident needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Transport residents to school, work, appointments, and recreational outings.
  • Participate in informal group sessions with residents.
  • Implement chore systems and monitor completion.
  • Provide backup support during emergencies, including safe restraints.
  • Assist in planning and implementing group recreational activities.
  • Complete daily reports and consultation for each resident.
  • Handle emergencies and crisis calls.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience working with troubled or at-risk youth.
  • Valid Hawaii driver's license.
  • Valid TB clearance.
  • Pre-employment medical clearances.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • DHS FBI/Criminal History & CAN, and Salvation Army background clearances.
  • MVR records check, meeting Authorized Driving standards of the Salvation Army.
Skills and Qualities:
  • Willingness to accept and implement The Salvation Army philosophy.
  • Good/sound judgment, dependability, initiative understanding, firmness, caring, organization, high energy level, and ability to work under conditions of stress and change without verbal or active expression.
Work Environment:

Most work will be indoors at Family Intervention Services. Attendance at trainings may be required.
