Role OverviewAs a Principal Engineer specializing in Identity, you will spearhead the design and execution of platform systems pertaining to authentication, authorization, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and customer identification within products.

Key Responsibilities- Direct the design and execution of identity and access management solutions for customer-facing products, ensuring smooth authentication and authorization processes for users.
- Work alongside product teams to integrate identity solutions into both new and existing applications, aligning with product specifications and user experience objectives.
- Design and implement secure authentication (AuthN) and authorization (AuthZ) mechanisms to enhance both security and user experience.
- Manage user identity data in compliance with privacy regulations and best practices.
- Resolve complex issues, provide technical expertise, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Participate in or lead the resolution of high-severity incidents.
- Create comprehensive architecture, standards, design, and implementation documentation.
- Collaborate with platform teams and fellow Principal Engineers to shape the future of Identity.
- Plan and oversee project tasks, timelines, and resources related to identity solution implementations.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of quality documentation regarding identity platform operations.
This role is designated as Hybrid, requiring a mix of in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is necessary.
What You Bring
- 15+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or Architect with a focus on authentication or authorization.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Informatics, or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise identity technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OpenId Connect, SCIM, FIDO, SAML2, and Zanzibar.
- Experience in Distributed Systems Design and building Identity platforms from the ground up.
- Familiarity with Cloud Identity Solutions, particularly Azure.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including least privilege, privileged access management, and passwordless authentication.
- Experience with AWS, Azure IAM, and related technologies.
- Experience in distributed systems.
- In-depth understanding of Authentication, Authorization, and Auditing in relation to Identity and Access Management.
