Job Title: Database Administrator 3

About the Job:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong background in database administration, data management, and leadership. As a Database Administrator 3, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale databases, as well as leading a team of staff and contractors in their area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Design and Implementation: Propose and promote standards and policies in adherence with data governance practices, collect, define, and assess business requirements for business solution design, and establish coding standards and practices for data elements.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Lead data conversion efforts, demonstrate a broad understanding of applications, data, and technical architectures, and establish disaster mitigation and recovery plans for solutions and databases supported.
  • Data Security and Compliance: Design and implement enterprise-level data, application, and database security layers, serve as a technical resource across IT on data management issues, and promote the reuse of existing data objects and entities across the enterprise to reduce cost and meet business requirements.
  • Team Management: Establish and drive consistent standards for data management and analysis tools and techniques, advise on the applications development process, and ensure compliance requirements are met. Typically provides direction to a team of staff and contractors in their area of expertise, mentors and develops technical staff in their domain, and participates in on-call rotations as needed.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and at least 5 years of experience in database administration, data management, and leadership.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of database design, implementation, and management, leadership and mentoring skills, data security and compliance knowledge, and ability to work in a team environment.
