ERM is on the lookout for a dedicated Environmental Engineering Consultant to enhance our consulting team. The ideal candidate will engage in a range of stimulating technical assignments for clients across various sectors, including renewable energy, oil & gas, mining, power generation, chemicals, warehousing, and manufacturing. The core responsibilities encompass assisting in the development of construction documentation, specifications, and permitting associated with site design, utility configuration, erosion and sediment control, earthwork planning, and stormwater management systems. Depending on qualifications, there may also be chances to participate in geotechnical investigations, industrial wastewater evaluation and design, soil and groundwater remediation, waste management facility design/closure, and construction supervision, among other tasks.

This role presents an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with a skilled consulting team on challenging civil and environmental management initiatives for significant industrial and global clients. Additionally, it offers a platform for networking with ERM's national experts in various technical fields, who will share insights on best practices within the industry and provide ongoing learning opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design site layouts, grading, drainage systems, and erosion and sediment control measures from initial concept to final execution.
  • Contribute to the design team by producing construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents.
  • Analyze field data, conduct calculations, and prepare engineering reports.
  • Offer general engineering support for a diverse array of environmental projects related to performance assurance, compliance, and transactional services.
  • Exemplify ERM's health and safety protocols and practices.
  • Conduct site assessments of operational industrial facilities.
  • Perform historical research and review environmental documentation.
  • Draft technical reports for environmental initiatives.
  • Engage in verbal and written communication with local regulatory bodies to facilitate permit application reviews and approvals.
  • Manage multiple tasks within scope, budget, and schedule expectations while ensuring quality standards for project deliverables.
  • Foster and maintain productive relationships with clients, ERM personnel, and subcontractors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience; direct consulting or industry experience is advantageous.
  • F.E. certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computer modeling software such as AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS Software, and/or Hydraflow is a plus.
  • Strong verbal, written, and computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to research and produce clear and precise technical documents.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively to colleagues, clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
