Position Summary

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team, focusing on a cutting-edge SaaS platform. This role will report to the DevOps Manager and will be instrumental in constructing, securing, and managing a multi-tenant SaaS application utilizing AWS services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect, implement, and sustain scalable infrastructure for our SaaS platform using AWS technologies such as API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, OpenSearch, and Secrets Manager.
  • Safeguard application security through AWS security tools including WAF, Shield, and GuardDuty.
  • Develop and uphold comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to guarantee the reliability and performance of our SaaS offerings.
  • Employ monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar to assess application and infrastructure health.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential issues before they affect users.
  • Construct and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  • Contribute to system architecture and feature development discussions.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving production incidents promptly.
  • Collaborate with Product, Development, and QA teams to ensure clear definition, documentation, prioritization, and execution of tasks.
  • Engage with stakeholders outside of Product and Engineering, such as Customer Success and Support, to accurately represent ongoing projects and collaborate on enhancements and future initiatives.
  • Participate in the Agile Development lifecycle, maintaining realistic goals and flexible execution.
  • Encourage a culture of teamwork while also being effective in independent work.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • AWS Solutions Architect and/or AWS DevOps Professional Certifications.
  • A proactive individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, experienced in a distributed work environment.
  • 8+ years of practical experience in site reliability engineering or DevOps roles.
  • Proficient in AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, OpenSearch, and Secrets Manager.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS security services, including WAF, Shield, and GuardDuty.
  • Strong experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective monitoring strategies to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
  • Experience in building, securing, and maintaining a multi-tenant SaaS application.
  • Familiarity with Identity Providers (IDPs) such as FusionAuth, Okta, Auth0, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of information security principles and practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms like Azure and GCP.
  • Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration.
  • Prior experience in startup environments, particularly in launching applications with customer engagement.
