Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Hill Country Project Management LLC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in establishing proactive controls to monitor the health of various AWS services and improving the reliability of tools and applications.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, monitoring, and securing various AWS IaaS and PaaS services. They will also be expected to improve the security of various services based on a zero-trust model and demonstrate experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting network issues.

The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills and experience with Splunk. They will also be familiar with Dev/Ops concepts and have a strong understanding of AWS services. A certification in AWS SysOps Administrator is preferred.

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the operations of SHARP secure cloud infrastructure platforms and software. They will help develop patterns for automated provisioning, management, scalability, and security. They will ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance standards and controls.

The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to and resolving application and security cloud issues. They will also be responsible for the overall vigor of the platform, including production issues, troubleshooting, monitoring system capacity, and working with other technical teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain multiple environments for increased observability
  • Develop tools to continuously improve maintainability, monitoring, security, and scalability of cloud deployments
  • Operations support and enhancement of the SHARP platform

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in establishing proactive controls to monitor the health of various AWS services
  • 10+ years of experience in supporting, maintaining, monitoring, and securing various AWS IaaS and PaaS services
  • 8+ years of experience in improving the security of various services based on a zero-trust model
  • 8+ years of experience in Linux administration and troubleshooting network issues
  • 4+ years of experience in strong programming skills
  • 2+ years of experience in Splunk
  • 2+ years of experience in Dev/Ops concepts
  • 1+ year of experience in AWS SysOps Administrator Certification
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
