Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Radiology Technologist to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare. As a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures using stationary and mobile radiographic equipment. You will provide basic patient care, process films, maintain equipment, transport patients, and prepare and maintain documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history and educate patients/families regarding procedures and/or treatment to be performed as well as risk factors and prevention.
  • Position patients appropriately for the applicable radiographic procedure and perform radiographic procedures and analysis according to departmental guidelines.
  • Develop and evaluate radiographic results for technical quality, such as density, contrast, definition, and distortion.
  • Apply learned methodologies with independent judgment according to established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain infection prevention standards and explain standard procedures and answer patients' questions.
  • Prepare, clean, adjust, inspect, and maintain equipment and produce quality images and prepare/present them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, archiving imaging data as needed or required.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals.
Modality Specific
  • Perform radiographic procedures using both stationary and mobile radiographic equipment and ensure proper image capture of skeletal structure requested for diagnosis and treatment purposes.
  • Process and develop exposed x-ray film and create x-ray CD copies for review and interpretation.
Quality
  • Adhere to regulatory and organizational standards affecting patient care and safety as well as all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform and evaluate equipment quality control measurements, demonstrating ability to troubleshoot and notifying appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
  • Assure the efficient operation of workflow of the department and monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure non-interruption of service.
Education
  • Participate in creating and sustaining a learning environment supported by evidenced-based practice and research.
  • Focus on personal development areas, engaging in professional/collegial interactions with peers and students.
  • Work with peers and other healthcare providers, participate in ongoing in-service and educational seminars, and participate in orienting, assisting, mentoring, and education of colleagues and students.
Compliance/Safety
  • Stay current and comply with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employees' area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
  • Complete all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
  • Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool, attend all safety-related training programs, perform work in a safe manner, monitor work environment for possible safety issues, and ensure others are also performing work in a safe manner.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associates of Applied Science or other related fields - Required.
  • Certification & Licensures: MRTBE, ARRT - Required upon date of hire or within six months of date of hire.
  • BLS (American Heart Assoc.) - Required.
  • NAHMG Clinic-Based Staff (Does not apply to Imaging Clinic): Fingerprint Clearance Card application number - Required upon hire.
