Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at UC Irvine Health. As a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver care utilizing the nursing process, ensuring the highest level of patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Oversee the plan of care, utilizing critical thinking to problem-solve and evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.
  • Transport critically ill patients, maintaining responsibility and accountability for the delivery and management of care during interfacility transport.
  • Perform ongoing assessment and re-evaluation of patient care, implementing plans to address changing patient needs.
  • Involve patients and families in care, delivering education and support to promote optimal health outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Current California R.N. license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and PALS certification.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a PICU RN required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
