Job Title: Senior Structural Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Designer to join our team at GHD Group. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural models using Revit and AutoCAD.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex and rewarding projects, driving change and making a positive impact. You will be part of a truly global team, working collaboratively with Discipline Designers, Drafters, and Engineers to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support for design and construction of structural projects using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Implementation of project/client software templates and standards and proper set up of structural models and drawings
  • Ensure BIM/CAD (including Revit and AutoCAD) and other technical processes are integrated into project workflows and are followed
  • Coordinate and manage the project model and any linked drawing deliverables and documentation outputs. Manage central model and other shared files.
  • Coordinate and engage with Discipline Designers, Drafters, and Engineers. Work with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Support Discipline Leads in checking models for general good work habits and quality health checks
  • Assist with proposals and awarded projects to define BIM scope, workflows, and plans on projects.
  • Responsible for compliance with technical design requirements, BIM Execution Plan (BEP) requirements, and customizing templates
  • Supporting BIM Leads and Designers to ensure effective and timely flow of project information and quality of deliverables
  • Confirming that the expected level of design requirements are met with each submittal
Qualifications
  • Minimum 12 years of experience working within Revit/AutoCAD structural projects.
  • Associate's degree in a Design/Drafting program is preferred.
  • Applicants must be proficient in modeling and detailing structural systems in building type of structures.
  • Has experience training and mentoring staff.
  • Has experience with creating standards.
  • Proven ability to work cohesively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to create positive relationships and influence others
  • Team player, cooperates effectively with others through open sharing of knowledge and information
