Role Summary

In this position, you will play a crucial role in developing body structures that meet key team, customer, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with various departments to find optimal solutions that meet all department needs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop High-Performance Body Structures: Design and develop body-in-white structures that meet all key requirements.
  • Collaborate with Studio Engineering: Work with studio engineering to find technical solutions that achieve their visions.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to find solutions to package components and meet related performance targets and requirements.
  • Develop Engineering Solutions: Work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop engineering solutions that meet requirements for vehicle safety, durability, and NVH.
  • Create and Document Engineering Release Documents: Create, document, and sign off engineering release documents, including 2D and 3D drawings, and DVP.
  • Manage Program-Specific Timing and DFMEA: Manage program-specific timing, DFMEA, and DVP action items.
  • Meet Cost, Weight, and Tooling Investment Targets: Meet cost, weight, and tooling investment targets for responsible parts.
  • Work with Manufacturing: Work closely with manufacturing to deliver a design that can be produced at supplier and Rivian plants.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ Years of Structural Engineering Foundation Experience
  • Experience Working Through a Full Product Lifecycle
  • 4+ Years Working with Occupant Compartment and Underbody Structures
  • Previous Success Working with Stamped and Spot-Welded Structures
  • Hands-On Development with Steel and Aluminum Structures
  • Good Collaborative and Teamwork Skills
  • Desire to Make an Impact on the Earth's Sustainability
  • Curiosity to Challenge Convention and Continuously Ask Why and How
  • Passion to Continuously Evolve and Improve Your Own Skills and Capabilities
Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California-Based Applicants: $107,000 - $134,800 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary

Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premium.
