Job Summary

The College of Lake County seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Procurement Services to lead the planning, direction, control, and evaluation of all procurement activities. As a key member of the Business Services and Finance team, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the procurement function, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for procurement operations, including sourcing, contracting, and vendor management.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to procurement staff, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Collaborate with college departments to identify procurement needs and develop solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Manage the procurement card program and ensure compliance with College policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement training programs to empower internal department customers.
  • Participate in professional associations and educational activities to enhance subject matter expertise and leadership competencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in procurement and purchasing leadership, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and bid management.
  • Minimum of three years' supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for procurement operations.
  • Leadership experience in procurement operations with a public or higher education institution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), or Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) certification.
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience with Workday ERP System.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
