Job Summary:

This role is responsible for providing support to licensed pharmacists by assisting with medication dispensing, patient profiles, and insurance claims. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing prescribed medication for patients by counting tablets, labeling bottles, and stocking products.
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and insurance claims using computer systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and respond to their inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Stock and take inventory of medications, notify the Pharmacy Manager of supplies that need to be ordered, and receive prescriptions/refills from patients.
  • Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, package, and label products, and maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department.
  • Abide by HIPAA and all legal policies and procedures, and perform any task delegated by the pharmacist on duty.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year prior customer service-oriented pharmacy-related experience preferred.
  • State appropriate registration or certification.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products.
  • Detail Oriented.

May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
