Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department, working closely with our pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Fulfill medication orders and deliver medication to patients in a timely and accurate manner.
- Order and stock medications and supplies in the department, ensuring that all necessary items are readily available.
- Prepare IVs, chemotherapy, and perinatal nutrition as required, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Conduct regular checks on pharmaceuticals to ensure expiration dates are met.
- Assist with medication history collection for admitted patients, following established Pharmacy Department processes.
- Support the orientation of new Pharmacy Technicians or Interns, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hospital experience is an asset.
- Must be a certified Pharmacy Technician or a certified Pharmacy Technician in Training by the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills, including a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy, and a helpful, professional attitude.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers, and the general public verbally and in writing.
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to establish priorities effectively.
- Possess exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
- Ability to learn new computer software programs and recognize and protect confidential information.
- Demonstrate ethical and legal accountability for the position.
