Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Field Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential customers, identifying new business opportunities, and developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth.

 

Principal Duties:

  • Create and implement sales call plans to target existing and potential customers.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts and product promotions to enhance customer engagement.
  • Provide price quotes and sales support to customers.
  • Inform customers of supply and price trends.
  • Coordinate sales orders and deliveries, including making deliveries to customer locations as required.
  • Prepare records and reports of sales and supporting activities.
  • Maintain and build positive customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities and job sites.
  • Fulfill customer orders, including taking materials from the warehouse area and loading customer vehicles.
  • Assist with inventory control, including participating in annual year-end inventory counts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Promote awareness of and adhere to company and general safety policies.
  • Exhibit a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in sales and/or marketing is preferred.
  • (1) year relevant experience in a similar operation, such as equipment rental operation, sales/retail environment, civil construction, government agency related to road work and/or safety is preferred.
  • Math skills to perform pricing calculations and generate reports as requested.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email, and adaptability to in-house software.
  • Keyboarding skills sufficient to complete tasks in a timely manner, with 10-key by touch helpful.
  • Ability to read and understand business documents, read road maps, and basic construction plan sheets.
  • Valid driver's license and favorable driver history record.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective internal and external communications, as well as initiate/promote sales of products and services.
  • Able to work under pressure or in a deadline-driven environment, use judgment or discretion, work with minimal (or considerable) supervision, follow instructions, make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment, use discretion and independent judgment, collaborate and cooperate with colleagues, and multitask.
  • Availability to work after hours, nights, and weekends to facilitate customer service and industry trade events.
  • Ability to work on various construction jobsites, including live traffic conditions.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds regularly and climb ladders.
