About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Trainer to join our team at Kaiser Permanente's Maui Health. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in training and development to deliver exceptional results.

Job Summary

The Senior Trainer will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing classroom training, on-site training, and support to automated medical records system users, including ancillary users and new hires. As an expert in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, you will partner with project leads to ensure integration of EMR information into training and support activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Serve as EMR expert regarding functionality, usage, clinical workflow, ancillary, and content topics.
  • Partner with project leads to ensure integration of automated medical record system information into training and support activities.
  • Build and maintain training environment to support ongoing operational training needs.
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and conduct EMR training, ensuring accurate dissemination of information through presentations.
  • Counsel other training team members.
  • Provide support and coaching to EMR users during go-live periods.
  • Develop EME trainers as coaches and resources.
  • Collaborate with National and regional KP HealthConnect training teams to develop EMR training materials.
  • Evaluate all EMR training/support activities, programs, and materials.
  • Assess results of user readiness surveys, providing tools, information, and training where indicated to enhance user readiness for EMR implementation.

Requirements

  • Three years of professional training experience with some experience in curriculum development, or five years of professional/technical experience in healthcare involving clinical workflow/operations or clinical systems support.
  • Bachelor's degree in organizational behavior, human resources development, education, or a related field, or four years of experience in a directly related field.
  • Coursework certification in one or more applications by Epic Systems Corporation within one year of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to present effectively and design and write curriculum.
  • Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels of organization, including senior management and physicians.
