Nutrition Services Manager Assistant

As a key member of the Nutrition Services team, the Nutrition Services Manager Assistant will provide critical support to the management team in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service programs. This role will be responsible for participating in the management team, completing scheduled training assignments, and taking an active role in learning all essential functions of a manager. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently with limited direct supervision. Additionally, they will be physically capable of performing assigned duties, including lifting up to 60 lbs. and working with machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the management team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Complete scheduled training assignments to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Take an active role in learning all essential functions of a manager, including leadership and organizational skills.
- Assume the responsibilities of the manager at least once a week to gain hands-on experience.
- Attend all meetings and inservices scheduled by the Food Service Department to stay informed and up-to-date.
Requirements:
- Comply with employee standards of conduct, including dress code, personal appearance, and behavior.
- Attend the Food Handling/Sanitation Certification Class required by department guidelines.
- Comply with food handling procedures established by the Food Service Department.
- Transfer to any food service unit and position as assigned by the Food Service Director or designee.
- Support the Food Service Department with regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Production Manager and/or the Food Service Director.
Working Conditions:
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent lifting, bending, and reaching. The ideal candidate will be physically capable of performing assigned duties and able to work independently with limited direct supervision.
Education and Experience:
A TASN Certificate or actively working towards certification is preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this role is $15.82/NS4, with benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
