Position Title: Mechanical Project Manager / Applications Engineer

About the Opportunity: This role presents a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager within a Mechanical Contractor focused on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) projects. We are seeking an individual with strong leadership qualities, enthusiasm, and exceptional organizational skills who has experience managing construction and HVAC projects from inception to completion.   • This is a full-time office-based role with a reputable and expanding organization.
  • Compensation ranges from $95,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine pre-construction documentation, oversee pre-construction activities, manage project timelines, generate RFIs, and assess product suitability.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of the design process for mechanical contractor projects, particularly in heating and cooling design. Familiarity with software such as Carrier HAP and Trane TRACE is advantageous.
  • Deliver and review project outputs in a timely manner, providing expertise in product selection and application.
  • Possess knowledge of equipment including RX Refrigeration, chilled and hot water systems, energy recovery systems, geothermal systems, boilers, and high-efficiency commercial and industrial cooling systems.
  • Assist with accounting tasks and participate in client meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with vendors regarding project products.
  • Comfortable working in an office environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in consulting.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
  • Proficient in HVAC systems and AutoCAD.
  • PE or EIT/FE certification is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Background checks and drug testing are mandatory.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including arithmetic and graph interpretation.
  • Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Engineering Competencies:

A passion for precise engineering and energy efficiency, along with proficiency in various HVAC systems and innovative problem-solving skills. Ability to learn and adapt swiftly.

Physical Requirements:

Capable of operating computer equipment and performing some physical tasks as needed.

This Position Is Ideal For:

Individuals with experience in Mechanical Project Management, particularly in Design MEP and Construction, holding a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or possessing 4+ years of HVAC or MEP Construction experience. ASHRAE experience in Project Management and occasional travel is expected.
