Role Overview:
The Community-Based Recovery Support Specialist will work under the guidance of the Clinical Program Manager to support the objectives of UnitedHealth Group. This role is pivotal in assisting consumers and their families daily, facilitating engagement, and fostering strong relationships with consumer- and family-run services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilize personal recovery experiences to help families and consumers establish their recovery goals and develop necessary skills.
2. Collaborate with clinical teams to implement care coordination and community-based services.
3. Maintain strong partnerships with consumer and family organizations to encourage active participation in UnitedHealth Group initiatives.
4. Communicate essential information regarding clinical policies and program evaluations to consumers and their families.
5. Identify and engage with community leaders to create culturally competent recovery programs.
Work Schedule:
This position requires a flexible schedule, typically Monday through Friday, with the possibility of local travel.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Active Peer Recovery Specialist certification in New Jersey or the ability to obtain it within a year.
- Experience with community resources and understanding of recovery principles.
