REPORTS TO: Food Service Director, Assistant Food Service Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

Accountable for the provision of food service to residents, guests, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Open and close the café in accordance with established protocols.
  2. Utilize the cash register and Point of Sale System adhering to Twin Lakes accounting standards. The system is Windows-based with a touch screen interface.
  3. Manage cash transactions and prepare deposits, ensuring the cash drawer maintains a balance of $150.00 and accounting for any discrepancies.
  4. Ensure accurate tracking of all food and beverage sales.
  5. Prepare service stations in alignment with meal periods.
  6. Update menus on the serving line and activate the menu display.
  7. Handle phone inquiries and assist residents with their requests.
  8. Process meal orders, serve food and beverages, and engage with patrons, ensuring proper portion sizes.
  9. Set up the salad and hot food stations on a daily basis.
  10. Record food temperatures prior to each meal service.
  11. Prepare the dining area for service and perform cleaning duties at the start and end of the day.
  12. Utilize various tools and equipment, employing both traditional methods and a dishwashing machine.
  13. Restock supplies in all café areas as needed.
  14. Maintain cleanliness and standards for table settings.
  15. Follow daily cleaning protocols and document completion.
  16. Participate in cross-training for other dietary roles to provide coverage as necessary.
  17. Report any unusual conditions, behaviors, or resident reactions to the appropriate licensed personnel promptly.
  18. Respond to residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors in a courteous and professional manner.
  19. Safeguard any confidential information related to residents, families, and the organization.
  20. Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all safety procedures and facility protocols regarding fire, disaster, and bomb threats.
  21. Adhere to all organizational, departmental, and nursing protocols in the execution of job responsibilities.
  22. Attend scheduled organizational or departmental meetings and training sessions.
  23. May be required to perform additional duties relevant to the nature of this position without significantly altering job requirements.
Physical Requirements: Continuous walking and/or standing; lifting is primarily light, but the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and push/pull wheeled serving carts and stations weighing between 5 to 500 pounds is necessary.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Windows, Email, and MS Office is required.
