Key Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Manager, Communications or designated representative, perform a variety of tasks to support the Communications Department and the Southcoast Hospitals Group. This includes, but is not limited to, operating the communications console and paging systems, initiating hospital alarms and emergency protocols, scheduling patients, and various clerical and administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows is required.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology is essential.
Completion of specialized training on console operation within six months of hire is mandatory.
Exceptional customer service, telephone etiquette, and both verbal and written communication skills are required.
Prior experience in the medical field is preferred.
Multi-lingual candidates are preferred.
A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required.
A Medical Terminology Certificate is mandatory.
Candidates must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or provide a valid exemption for medical or personal reasons upon hiring.
Compensation:
USD $27.00 per hour.
