Position Responsibilities
The Financial Planning Analyst will play a crucial role in assisting with the development of financial reporting packages, conducting financial analysis, performing variance analysis, and facilitating quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting processes. This role will involve collaboration with business unit leaders to manage P&L and drive financial performance.
- Collaborate with management and various departments to provide insightful financial and business analysis to enhance business outcomes.
- Support the creation and execution of quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
- Prepare monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP, complete various account reconciliations, and manage COGS/Sales tie-outs.
- Oversee the CAPEX planning and analysis process, including the administration and evaluation of CAPEX requests.
- Provide financial insights to assist the operations team in managing their departmental budgets.
- Work with different departments to identify their reporting requirements, creating streamlined reports and dashboards to facilitate informed business decisions.
- Drive business enhancements through the analysis of metrics and KPIs.
- Become a subject matter expert in NetSuite ERP for the Finance team and provide training to other team members.
- Assist in the month-end closing process by implementing streamlined practices and leveraging technology for improved visibility into profitability.
- Analyze customer program deductions to ensure adherence to contracted agreements.
- Support the Controller during year-end audits by providing necessary financial reviews and analyses.
- Develop standard costs and monitor purchase price variances, tracking cost savings against budgets and previous years to identify opportunities and trends.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, with a preference for at least 2 years in a manufacturing setting.
- A degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and execute project management skills effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Capability to collaborate with teams across various levels within the organization.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands through analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; experience in financial modeling is a plus.
Reports to: Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
Compensation: Competitive base salary based on qualifications and experience, with benefits including healthcare, dental, vision, 401K, PTO, life and disability insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
Working Environment:
Work is generally conducted in a standard office environment, primarily at a desk using a computer. Extended hours may be required based on workload and deadlines.
