Job Description

Contractor Service and Fabrication, Inc. is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for the installation, fabrication, and maintenance of piping systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lay Out and Plan Pipe Systems: Interpret blueprints and specifications to design and lay out pipe systems, supports, and related equipment.
  • Rigging and Equipment Operation: Have knowledge of various types of rigging equipment and the ability to use them properly.
  • Pipe Assembly and Installation: Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.
  • Inspection and Testing: Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
  • System Design and Planning: Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications.
  • Material Selection: Select pipe sizes, types, or related materials, including supports, hangers, or hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
  • Valve Installation: Be able to identify the different types of valves and how to install them.
Knowledge, Tools, and Technology:
  • HDPE Experience: Must have experience in the installation and fabrication of HDPE piping systems.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Design and Mathematics: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models, including mathematics including tables of equivalents and trigonometry.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Underground Piping Experience: Must have experience in underground piping installation and fabrication.
  • HDPE Fusion Experience: Must have experience in the fusion of HDPE piping systems.
  • Operating Fusion Machines: Knowledge of operating fusion machines.
  • Technical Training: Degree and/or Certificate in Technical Training is preferred.
