POSITION SUMMARY
The Residential Counselor plays a crucial role in overseeing the well-being of residents within the Plummer Residential Youth Programs during assigned shifts. This position is essential to the treatment team, engaging with residents daily to support them in reaching their specified treatment objectives. This is a part-time position with eligibility for employer-sponsored medical and dental benefits. Shifts are scheduled for Sundays and Mondays from 7 AM to 3 PM.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Engage authentically with residents and their parents or identified caregivers, utilizing a Youth-Guided approach;
  • Implement Strength-Based, Trauma-Informed, and Family-Driven strategies.
  • Provide direct oversight for residents in the Plummer Residential Programs.
  • Utilize the Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) Model to effectively engage residents.
  • Employ Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques to ensure a safe environment.
  • Document interventions and progress accurately in Daily Progress Notes using APRICOT.
  • Complete shift entries in the daily Communication log at the end of each shift.
  • Assist with meal preparation and contribute to weekly menu planning.
  • Administer medications in compliance with MAP policy.
  • Facilitate youth engagement through the PAYA curriculum.
  • Provide transportation for residents to appointments and activities.
  • Support residents in weekly grocery shopping.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness of the program on a daily basis.
  • Participate in all relevant meetings as directed by the Program Manager.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of the overall environment, including adjusting schedules or assignments as necessary.
  • Attend supervision, in-service training, and all required meetings as designated by the Program Director or their designee.
  • Address concerns and incidents with staff and clients in a professional manner.
  • Accept additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager or their designee.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
  • Actively participate in all monthly staff meetings.
  • Engage in scheduled supervision sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capacity to bend, reach, move, and lift up to 75 pounds.
