Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' needs upon admission and utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Document all significant information on the patient's medical record, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Anticipate and respond to changing patient care needs and department situations, demonstrating a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Resolve patient-related problems within the scope of responsibility, utilizing critical thinking and clinical expertise.
  • Participate in the facility's Performance Improvement program, contributing to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, as well as department protocols, serving as a resource for colleagues and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Demonstrate age-specific competency in clinical practice, ensuring that patient care is tailored to meet the unique needs of diverse patient populations.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse or temporary Registered Nurse petitioner in the state of North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Current successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • High-level problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify solutions to complex human, technical, clinical, or administrative problems.

Work Environment

The RN Patient Flow Coordinator will work in a general hospital environment, with frequent exposure to chemicals, pathogens, and patient blood and body fluids. The work environment is climate-controlled, with frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying required. Frequent walking, standing, stooping, and reaching are also necessary for this role.
