About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Engineer to join our team at Target. As a key member of our Engineering and Technical Design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative products that meet the strategic business goals of our company.

As a Senior Product Engineer, you will lead the technical development process, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will work closely with our quality and compliance teams to understand performance testing protocols and develop products that meet them.

You will also be responsible for managing, mentoring, and developing a team of 2-5 direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical development process, ensuring that products meet quality standards
  • Manage and mentor a team of direct reports, providing guidance and support for high performance and professional growth
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to execute brand vision, resolve manufacturing issues, and develop products
  • Develop and lead strategic research and development projects, including understanding benchmarks and executing plans for improvements
  • Partner with vendors to ensure that the brand vision is clearly understood and successfully brought to life with every product
Requirements
  • Four-year degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Product Development, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Advanced expertise in a specific category or business
  • Knowledge of testing, safety, and legal requirements for consumer products
  • Knowledge of raw materials and manufacturing process
  • Strong knowledge of various 2-D and/or 3-D CAD software packages
  • Advanced knowledge of product manufacturing
