Overview

SAIC is seeking a seasoned and dynamic Hardware Engineer to contribute to the operational upkeep and support of ground-based radar systems essential for strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space monitoring missions. This role is pivotal in collaboration with the government client, the SAIC Program Manager, and the Chief Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive electrical and mechanical analysis at the rack level, focusing on signal, power, and thermal aspects.
  • Create engineering documentation in compliance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly schematics, interconnect wiring diagrams, and custom cable designs.
  • Evaluate supplier Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), including step-file and 3D model assessments to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Support system integration, testing, and development of various intricate communication systems.
  • Devise technical solutions for complex challenges, leveraging creativity and innovation.
  • Provide integration, testing, and maintenance support in laboratory and field environments.
  • Engage in troubleshooting efforts to resolve intricate issues, collaborating with engineers responsible for maintaining sub-systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of nine (9) years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling at least thirteen (13) years.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Proven experience in designing new products or modifying existing ones, developing technical specifications for production, analyzing hardware configurations, and testing hardware against specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with sustaining PARCS or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as PAVE PAWS and UEWR.
  • Familiarity with the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and its associated enterprise.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. This estimate reflects the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other relevant factors.
