Radar Systems Electrical Engineer Role
This position is responsible for providing maintenance, sustainment, and modernization for Radar Systems to support the vital missions of the warfighters within the Space Systems (SS) Sector of L3Harris.
The primary systems supported include AN/FPS-132, Upgraded Early Warning Radars (UEWR), AN/FPQ-16, Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS), and decommissioned AN/FPS-123, Precision Acquisition Vehicle Entry - Phased Array Warning System (PAVE PAWS).
This team, located in Colorado Springs, CO, is responsible for sustainment, life cycle (depot) maintenance, design, development, implementation, testing, and analysis.
Responsibilities include supporting and participating in all phases of the hardware development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, testing, depot repair and deployment.
Additionally, developing documentation and procedures to ASME and IEEE standards will be required.
This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop performance requirements, evaluate, and develop designs containing hardware, software, and cyber/IT components, and collaborate on the overall design of the system.
This position will also assist the Project Management in giving technical presentations and insuring schedule and budget objectives are met.
This position will require travel Up to 25% of the time, including overseas.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Computer Science Engineering and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret security clearance
- 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience
- Prior or current experience with Electronic Systems Sustainment
- Experience with Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Lab skills with hands-on troubleshooting and debugging of electronic assemblies including root-cause analysis
- Experience providing obsolescence support identifying replacement components that meet or exceed defined requirements
- Experience developing requirements, design specifications, verification documents, and other technical information
- Able to obtain a U.S. Passport
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience leading technical teams including guiding, coaching, mentoring and training other employees
- Experience on UEWR and PARCS Radar Systems
- Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise
- Familiar with Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Function Generators and Power Supplies
- Develop and review electrical engineering documentation to ensure compliance to higher level specifications
- Understanding of technical baseline documents (Engineering Drawings, Technical Orders, etc.)
- Administer Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions (RCCA) processes
- Experience performing risk analysis and developing risk mitigation plans
- Ability to work with E-CAD tools and 3 dimensional Models
- Cost & Schedule management experience
- Radar design experience
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers.
