Aircraft Ordnance Systems Mechanic Job Summary

This position is located in the Munitions Section of the Avionics Maintenance Branch at Air Rescue and Recovery units and is part of the CA 129 RQW. The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for uploading and downloading mission munitions, organizational and intermediate level maintenance of assigned weapons, launchers, adapters, dispensers, and installed weapons release systems, and the storage, inspection, and inventory of assigned munitions.

Responsibilities
  • Upload and download mission munitions
  • Perform organizational and intermediate level maintenance of assigned weapons, launchers, adapters, dispensers, and installed weapons release systems
  • Store, inspect, and inventory assigned munitions
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions and determine remedy where complex relationships exist
  • Use a variety of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks
Requirements
  • California National Guard membership is required
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment
  • Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade, and job assignment as required by current directives
  • Must wear appropriate military uniform, including required grooming standards
Qualifications
  • Possess experience or training that demonstrates the ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components
  • Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications, and engineering drawings
  • Experience that demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
