Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Pipe Fitter to join our team. As a key member of our fire protection team, you will be responsible for configuring, installing, and maintaining piping systems to ensure the smooth operation of our fire safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and install piping systems composed of various materials, including pipes, pressure and vacuum gauges, pipeline filters, steam traps, and strainer valves.
  • Consult blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions to create working procedures based on specifications.
  • Gather equipment and materials for the job, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes to meet project requirements.
  • Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps, cutting or boring holes as necessary.
  • Install various types of insulation and pipe covering, safely removing and disposing of old coverings in accordance with EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Inspect pipes, testing for pressure and leaks, and report and resolve any issues.
  • Coordinate with management to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
  • Comply with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Maintain records, including safety logs and inspection details.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; any vocational training is strongly desired.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools, including blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
