Position Summary:

At Vail Resorts, exceptional service is at the core of our mission, and our Ski Patrol team plays a vital role in delivering this unforgettable experience. The Ski Patrol is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of both staff and guests on the mountain. These vigilant and reliable professionals are trained to promote safety and maintain composure during emergencies.

Position Specifications:

  • Expected Compensation: $23.26 per hour
  • Work Schedule: Full Time (35+ hours per week)
  • Required Certifications: OEC; EMT
  • Required Ski Proficiency: Expert
  • Additional Notes: Patrol members operate at high elevations across diverse terrains and in varying weather conditions. Candidates must successfully complete an expert-level ski patrol assessment upon hiring; snowboard-only candidates may face eligibility restrictions due to safety considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure guest safety on the mountain.
  • Provide assistance to injured guests.
  • Maintain trails, including closures, safety signage, avalanche control, and other environmental impacts.
  • Assist in the evacuation of guests from chairlifts.
  • Support experienced leaders in avalanche management.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Successfully pass the resort's Ski Patrol sponsored ski assessment.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Exceptional guest service skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions in a high-altitude environment.
  • Manual dexterity for equipment operation; sufficient vision, speech, and hearing to learn skills and follow directions.
  • Successful completion of a background check prior to employment.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays. All entry-level positions are full-time, requiring five days of work per week.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $23.26 per hour. This reflects the compensation we expect to offer for this role, with individual salary decisions influenced by various factors.
