Job Summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled Urban Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability of information required to anticipate the impact of proposed land use issues on our schools by participating in growth management meetings and preparing graphic, statistical, and analytical reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in growth management meetings to stay informed about proposed land use issues
  • Prepare graphic, statistical, and analytical reports to support decision-making
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of research and statistical analysis, including Geographic Information System (GIS) and ESRI ArcGIS software
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in urban planning policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Master's degree in urban planning, urban and regional planning, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as an urban planner in a local government setting or corporate setting
  • Experience using ESRI ArcGIS software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a local government setting
  • Knowledge of urban planning policies and procedures
  • Experience with GIS and ESRI ArcGIS software
