Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Transportation/Transit Planner to join our team and lead the development of innovative transportation and transit solutions that positively impact communities. In this role, you will serve as a key technical expert, providing guidance and leadership in all aspects of urban and rural transit and transportation planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement transportation plans that meet quality standards and objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance on complex transit and transportation projects.
  • Collaborate with teams to streamline workflows and improve project delivery.
  • Conduct research, analyze data, and attend public meetings to inform planning strategies.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, promoting professional growth.
  • Use GIS mapping and spatial analysis to create project solutions.
  • Prepare reports and memos with actionable recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and present to diverse audiences.
  • Navigate federal transit funding programs and compliance tasks.
  • Lead transit-specific public engagement efforts.
  • Address infrastructure and land use issues affecting transit.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, public policy, geography, or a related field.
  • Certified Planner (AICP), preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in transportation / transit planning.
  • Experience in ArcGIS or ArcPro software.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving history.
