Maintenance Technician I Job Description

Vestas is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our wind turbines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including forklifts, container stackers, and personnel lifts.
  • Work with production machines and factory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Coordinate work orders and workflow optimization to ensure timely execution.
  • Maintain EAM database of new and existing equipment, including PM schedules and tool calibrations.
  • Create requisitions in SAP for tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Allocate team members to support timely execution of work orders.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Inspect and test shop equipment and new/repaired instruments to verify dimensions and quality control standards.
  • Track process indicators, spare parts, and labor consumption.
  • Communicate with equipment suppliers for quotes, orders, and troubleshooting support.
  • Provide department manager with equipment status reporting and damaged equipment for return to service estimations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Able to accurately repair and diagnose heavy equipment.
  • Strong natural ability to work in teams and self-manage tasking timetables.
  • High degree of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other software programs.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and teaching/leading.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing plant, chemical plant, or refinery maintenance is preferred.
  • Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment.
  • Reads and understands mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic prints and symbols.
  • Understands blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances.
