Job Summary

Gateway Rehab is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Treatment Support Technician 2 to join our team in Center Township, PA. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in facilitating programming and ensuring the integrity of the therapeutic milieu.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Discussion Groups and Activities: Lead engaging and informative discussions to promote patient engagement and participation.
  • Monitor Patient Behavior: Observe and report on patient behavior, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Conduct Handbook Orientation: Provide comprehensive orientation to new patients, ensuring they understand our policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Searches and Searches of Patient Belongings: Conduct thorough searches of patient belongings, rooms, and persons, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Act as Liaison between Clinical Staff and Patients: Serve as a communication link between clinical staff and patients, addressing concerns and providing support.
  • Assist with Patient Assessment Forms: Help patients complete assessment forms, ensuring accurate and comprehensive information.
  • Assist with Phone Calls and Referrals: Make phone calls to family members, friends, and referral sources, providing support and guidance.
  • Assist with Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations, providing emotional support and de-escalation techniques.
  • Transport Patients to Meetings: Escort patients to meetings and appointments, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Document Patient Progress: Record patient progress and involvement in progress notes, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Collect Urine and Complete Paperwork: Collect urine samples and complete necessary paperwork for drug screening, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Provide Post-Discharge Contacts and Referrals: Make post-discharge contacts and referrals, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
  • Monitor Medication and Nutrition: Monitor patients' medication and nutrition needs, documenting accordingly.
  • Work in the Gift Shop and Manage Menu and Nutrition: Assist with gift shop operations and manage menu and nutrition needs, ensuring a positive experience for patients.
  • Manage Donations and Patient Requests: Manage donations and patient requests, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Monitor Smoke Breaks: Supervise smoke breaks in the hospital setting, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Complete Intake Paperwork: Complete intake paperwork, ensuring accurate and comprehensive information.
  • Monitor Clients' ADLs: Observe and report on clients' Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Remain on Duty: Remain on duty until relieved, ensuring continuity of care and support.
  • Attend Mandatory Trainings and In-Services: Participate in mandatory trainings and in-services, maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in education.
Preferred Requirements
  • Some College Preferred: Possess some college education, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License and Clean Driving Record: Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record, ensuring safe transportation of patients.
  • PA Criminal History Record Check: Pass a PA Criminal History Record Check, demonstrating a commitment to public safety and trust.
  • PA or State Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances: Obtain PA or state child abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients.
  • CPR/First Aid Training: Obtain CPR/First Aid training, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
  • Pass Drug Screen: Pass a drug screen, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • TB Testing: Pass TB testing, demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and well-being.
  • Mandatory Staffing Coverage: Be available for mandatory staffing coverage, ensuring a safe treatment environment for Gateway residents.
  • Remain Awake and Alert: Remain awake and alert while on duty, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients.
  • Attest to 18 Months in Recovery: If living a life of recovery, attest to at least 18 months in recovery from substance use disorder, demonstrating a commitment to personal growth and development.
