About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at the Ohio Department of Public Safety. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure solutions to support our mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our infrastructure service provider to build and maintain cloud infrastructures, websites, applications, services, and databases on various environment platforms.
  • Deploy custom and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications on all environment platforms and report results to application development staff and management.
  • Assist application development staff with troubleshooting deployment issues and ensure the successful processing of applications supporting the mission of the Department of Public Safety.
  • Measure and monitor the performance of DPS applications and provide information on performance to software developers, database administrators, security, business areas, and the State's infrastructure service provider.
  • Work with the above sections to resolve any issues disrupting DPS processing and participate in meetings to define technical requirements for applications supporting the mission of the Department of Public Safety.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 60 months of combined work experience in evaluating effectiveness and risk of IT processes, recommending changes in IT procedures to meet customer needs, and evaluating and/or researching hardware and/or software solutions and providing feedback to project teams or higher-level staff.
  • 12 months of work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description and job posting, which is Microsoft Azure.
