The Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in delivering professional repair and maintenance services for Senspex's advanced products, including thermal imaging systems, video camera technology, electro-mechanical switching devices, and environmental sensing instruments. This position is integral to the assembly, installation, and testing of sensor components and systems, as well as the construction, maintenance, and evaluation of electrical systems and components. Utilizing diagnostic and measuring tools, the technician assesses and modifies electronic components to ensure compliance with established specifications. Furthermore, this role involves reviewing system designs, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders on technical initiatives, and aiding in the integration of hardware/software and network systems. Projects may encompass various technological areas, such as sensor networks, IoT, integrated electronic sensors, video surveillance, optics, access control, and perimeter detection solutions. The Engineering Technician interacts directly with clients and team members to understand customer needs, formulate work plans, and meet contractual obligations.


Key Responsibilities:

Employ a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to plan, design, and develop comprehensive system solutions; conduct analyses to optimize system architecture.Execute fieldwork to implement sensor network solutions, including setup, configuration, and commissioning of sensor networks and establishing connections across various electronic devices.Analyze, troubleshoot, and evaluate camera and network systems, ensuring seamless integration with minimal disruption.Install and program computer hardware or instrumentation software in microprocessor-based systems.Assess customer and operational requirements to define and coordinate system performance specifications, ensuring compatibility across all interfaces.

Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong background in networking and field engineering.Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.Ability to apply basic systems engineering principles to resolve issues.Experience in creating process-driven documentation and managing project requirements.Preferred training in equipment operation, towing, electrical, electronics, and radio communications.Capable of troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.Willingness to travel up to 50% for site assessments, troubleshooting, installations, or other requirements.

Additional Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen or possess the legal right to work in the U.S.National security clearance may be required; candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance.Must have acceptable forms of identification as per the REAL ID Act.
