Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary: As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Johnson Health Center, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our young patients. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of our families.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Relations:
- Conduct thorough medical histories, gathering information from patients, families, and previous medical records.
- Clearly explain treatment options and provide culturally sensitive health education and counseling.
Staff Relations/Team Building:
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate effective communication and patient care.
- Perform duties as required to meet primary healthcare goals.
Clinical Duties:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients' health status, utilizing your expertise and knowledge of pediatric care.
- Perform physical examinations, order lab and x-ray studies, and formulate patient management plans.
- Provide routine preventive physical examinations and refer patients requiring hospitalization or specialist care.
- Rend emergency care and treatment, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as needed.
- Stress preventive health care measures and promote healthy lifestyles.
Administrative Duties:
- Review other providers' notes and maintain accurate patient records.
Performance Improvement Activities:
- Participate in quality improvement programs and attend medical staff meetings.
Safety/Infection Control Activities:
- Attend OSHA infection control seminars and adhere to Johnson Health Center's guidelines and policies.
Other Functions:
- Abide by the Code of Conduct and demonstrate commitment to Johnson Health Center's mission.
- Treat patients and staff with dignity and respect.
- Perform job functions accurately, completely, and efficiently.
- Keep professional licenses current and up to date.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or a Nurse Practitioner program recognized by the Board of Nursing.
- Ability to relate effectively to patients and providers.
- Basic Life Support techniques qualification.
- Sufficient experience to carry out the duties of this position.
- Certification from American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or equivalent within 9 months of employment.
