Job Title: Engineer Associate IV/KTC

The University of Kentucky's Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer Associate IV/KTC to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting multidisciplinary transportation research and working on a broad range of topics, including highway design, project management, pavement design and maintenance, infrastructure assessment and roadway forensic analysis, construction management, highway and infrastructure safety, structural engineering and preservation, intelligent transportation systems, economic, financial, and policy dimensions of transportation, traffic operations, and environmental analysis.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in transportation systems and a passion for creating new knowledge that will influence how agencies manage critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct multidisciplinary transportation research and analysis
  • Develop and implement research projects and studies
  • Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and other stakeholders to advance transportation knowledge and practice
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations to stakeholders and the public
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in transportation research and practice

Requirements:

  • PhD in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong background in transportation systems and research methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in transportation research and analysis
  • Knowledge of transportation systems and infrastructure
  • Strong leadership and management skills
