Job Summary:

The Coordinator of Science and Tech Engineering provides leadership and support for K-8 curriculum and instructional programs in the area of Science and Tech Engineering. This role involves collaborating with teachers, principals, and central staff to ensure effective implementation of curriculum and instructional strategies. The Coordinator will also serve as a contributing evaluator for middle school Science and Tech Engineering staff and collaborate with other Curriculum Coordinators on department projects. Regular communication with district leadership and staff is essential for this role. The Coordinator will also oversee the distribution and refurbishment of science materials and kits. Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of students. The Coordinator will be responsible for implementing other job-related duties as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and support for K-8 curriculum and instructional programs in Science and Tech Engineering
  • Serve as contributing evaluator for middle school Science and Tech Engineering staff
  • Collaborate with teachers, principals, and central staff to ensure effective implementation of curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Collaborate with other Curriculum Coordinators on department projects
  • Meet regularly with district leadership team to provide district-wide curriculum leadership
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, principals, colleagues, and central staff
  • Oversee the distribution and refurbishment of science materials and kits
  • Consistent, reliable, and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of students
  • Responsible for implementing other job-related duties as needed

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in both office and school environments
  • Ability to travel between multiple school locations
  • Ability to operate computer, printer, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
